Mobilize acquires German leasing firm Mobility Concept with 50,000 fleet vehicles

Mobilize Lease&Co, a subsidiary of Mobilize Financial Services, part of the Renault group, has announced the acquisition of the German leasing and renting company Mobility Concept and MeinAuto, which has a fleet of 50,000 vehicles and assets worth more than one billion euros.

The objective of this acquisition of Mobilize Lease&Co, which specialises in offering cars for rent through all types of formulas to individuals, mobility operators and small and medium-sized companies, especially flexible, is to increase its footprint in the renting and leasing market in the European region.

Mobilize’s target by 2030 is to reach a managed live fleet of one million vehicles. Currently, the company controls 350,000 cars, with figures as of the end of 2022.

MeinAuto is a digital platform that distributes all makes and models configured through the digital channel and has 250 employees.

«This acquisition will help to significantly accelerate and strengthen Mobilize’s development in Germany,» said Enrico Rossini, CEO of Mobilize Lease&Co, following the agreement.

Frédéric Schneider, CEO of Mobilize Financial Services, said that MeinAuto «will enable us to expand our leasing offering and complement the existing dealer network in our alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi».

MeinAuto’s current CEO, Rudolf Rizzolli, will continue to lead the company and report directly to Enrico Rossini.

The transaction is subject to approval by BaFin, the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, as well as the competition authorities in Austria and Germany.

Recently, another subsidiary of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, the Spanish-based digital car underwriting company Bipi, for which the then RCI Bank paid 100 million euros, has started operations in Germany.
